  1. Great advise, Jon. This, by the way, is the most time-consumming process in the submitting process- not the writing of the query or book proposal-but the researching of publishers and guidelines. It takes me a day or two to find my target when I’m ready, and then another day or week to prepare everything to mail or email. Of all the tasks that confronts a writer is this…and just the beginning! The work, in MHO, is in the submitting and pitching of a well-written manuscript.
