Yes! I do that (and like you mentioned, it gets annoying). This phenomenon began when I started studying screenwriting last year – now I can't watch a movie or TV show without analyzing. My main obsession lately is recognizing conflict LOL Great advice :)

I leave the theaters or television sitcoms either satisfied or not but I do pick out some ideas that inspires me to write along the way. Each day is a good opportunity. Like what you said, the world is a learning tool itself to the sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell of a writer. Thanks John. More power!
